This is a really nice place to stay in Victoria. It’s a nice little short walk to lots of restaurants. They have an excellent public transit system there and the stop is right there in front. The actual room is really cool. It’s like an old school motel but brand new construction. So you know if you millennials want to experience something that’s nothing like a real old school motel this place is a good safe place to do it.

Unable to sleep due to elevator noise ... check your suite location before booking!
We stayed in Suite 503 for two nights. It is right by the elevator, and the mechanical noise in the bedroom was loud enough to keep us awake both nights. We are not light sleepers. I recorded the noise and sent it to management in the middle of the night.
To their credit, staff was responsive and acknowledged the problem. They also offered relocation, but it was already late and, with our packed travel schedule the next day, finding another hotel and moving wasn't realistic.
We researched the property and read many reviews before booking but saw no warning about this issue. Had we known, we would have stayed elsewhere. After our stay, however, searching the reviews specifically for "elevator noise" produced a few 1- and 2-star reviews mentioning the same issue. But how would anyone know to search for something that specific beforehand?
If you are given a suite ending in 03, or any suite next to the elevator, I strongly suggest asking specifically about elevator noise before accepting it. I can't confirm that every such suite is affected, but Suite 503 certainly was.
The property itself and service were good, but two nights without decent sleep outweighs those positives and unfortunately makes this a one-star stay.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Solo. It was immaculately clean, and everything I needed was provided for me. The staff were exceptionally helpful, I arrived as the office staff were leaving at the end of the day, they immediately returned to the office to register me, and then saw me to my room and carried my bag. Great service!

Room was nice and clean, had a complete kitchen and washer and dryer inside. Easy check in and out. Would recommend staying.

Our stay was exceptional! We traveled with our friends who roomed next door to us which was perfect. The amenities and all the kitchen were excellent. Well stocked kitchen and easy to use tv. Also I loved that ther was so much storage space and the small kitchen. Absolutely recommend this start.
