Good meat dishes!

With so few restaurants to choose from in Lich and totally unaware that reservations will be necessary on weekends, this restaurant was a gift on the Saturday night we thought we may have to forfeit dinner. We arrived late just as a group of four were leaving and got the only availsble seating indoors.
I ordered the beef filet steak and my husband the pork schnitzel with baked Handkäse on top. The dishes came with a side of potato and a separate salad plate, and being a Metzger (butcher), the food was delicious. The service was very friendly. The prices reasonable.
We always visit Lich to visit relatives so will definitely be back to dine at Restaurant Schneider again.

Room and bathroom very dirty and old. Personnel has potential to move up. Breakfast Ok, BUT jam, butter , honey , Nutella uva Single Packed. Gypsy schnitzel (actually still so on the map) was with ready-made pasta salad from the glass. Schnitzel, well.

Avoid!

We wanted to stay in Lich to experience a nice historic German town, but Hotel Schneider ruined it for us. To say that the staff was unfriendly and unprofessional would be an understatement. We were greeted at the reception by a cook who gave us a couple of snide remarks (never said welcome) and gave us a key to the hotel room. The next morning the staff did not respond to our greeting and completely ignored us.
You might have heard about the proverbial German cleanliness – apparently Familie Schneider is an exception. The room was full of dust, the sheets were stained, I found someone’s dark hair on my fitted bed sheet (I am blond), the carpeting was falling apart, the tiles in the bathroom had not been washed in ages and we counted two spiders in the room. The fire extinguisher in the corridor was missing and so were some bulbs on the lamp. The entire hotel gave an impression of decay.
We will obviously never stay again – recommend seeking accommodation in Marburg if you like the typical German architecture.
