A delightfully unspoilt beach

On the remote north-east coast of Ios, away from the crowds but easily accessible by rental-car, this delightful beach is a reminder of how things were in the days of innocence. The main strand is backed by sheltering tamarisk trees, but turn left and after a short walk northwards you'll discover a string of idyllic sandy coves. These are popular with naturists and are lovely spots for a swim and picnic.

Great place right in front of the beach

To choose this place or not, you have to consider your priorities because if you want to party all night long in Chora, this place is a bit out of hand, but on the other hand if you want peace this is the right place to be. The rooms are a bit small but you can’t expect more at this price in Greece, the rooms have all the essentials and even tapping water (which you can’t take for granted in a Greek island).

So secluded and wonderful

Psathi beach is located on the north side of the island, about 40 minutes from the dock and main area, but is absolutely worth it. I recommend you hire a car as there is not a lot around, in fact just one restaurant 5 minutes away, walking distance. However the restaurant unfortunately nearly never had what was on the menu.. If you don't have a car there is a shuttle bus that goes in and out of that area into the city everyday for very cheap. The hotel itself is literally on the beach and so beautiful. Only about 5 or so rooms, so availability my be scarce at times. But a very small but nice place. The rooms are excellent. They have aircon, a fridge, television, kettle... was great. The beach was so peaceful and calm when i was there, and most days i had it all to myself. Truely the perfect place to relax and unwind. Perfect for families with children and picnics also has theres so much space. Loved my stay there.

Amazing Beach!

Outstanding place. Very quiet, there are free umbrellas only and no sun beds but its worth going. The see is very cleaned and the view on other islands is amazing! I really enjoyed the day, relaxed and took a lo t of sun.

Quite and nice

Psathi beach is located at the North side of Ios island. Avoid visiting the beach when it's blowing North winds. Very nice beach ideal for families too. At the left side, you can find several nice blind spots to sunbed ;-) it's easy accessible with a car (about 35-40minutes).Be sure to have some water with you. There is a nice tavern (alonistra) where you can eat. If it's early season or late, be sure to ask a local if the tavern is open. Otherwise you will have to come back from psathi hungry.
