For what it is,perfect
We spent a night in this hostel my friend and I for going to the Bernabeu concert last night. Check in at 14 we left our bags showered and left. Small room, antique but with everything you need and very very clean. Close to Moncloa metro and bus with easy access to the whole center. Today we walked to Atocha passing by retreat as there was very nice weather
Reception a bit dismal but as you climb the elevator changes. Magnetic card doors so it already tells you how bad is not what you will find. Comfortable gray hair. Gel and shampoo. You don't need anything else to sleep and shower. I would definitely repeat

Without a doubt the worst hotel I have been in in the last twenty or thirty years.
The room was cut out from a larger space, so that half the window corresponded to the bedroom and the other half the bathroom. Tatty furniture, like a bad student apartment. Bathroom of ridiculous dimensions and also with water that at best could be described as warm. Sheets and towels of the worst possible quality. An incredibly unpleasant detail: a threatening list of everything you will be charged if you steal or cause damage to any object in the room (as if they were treasures or as if each of the guests were a potential vandal or thief). I charge 2 euros to store your luggage once you have checked out. And so on.
I want to save the reception staff from this criticism, very friendly and doing what they can in the midst of this disaster.
Conclusion: in Madrid, stay anywhere but here.

Don't book in this bad hotel
Very bad treatment, very bad people who work 0/10000, the worst hotel in the world, I do not advise anyone who books with them, they are super super bad people, they steal my money, poor quality rooms.

Sometimes you are locked inside or outside depend of luck
Hi! I had a huge problem with my stay at your hotel. First of all, none of your staff members knew any English. I had to make and extra effort to mediate our language difference and try to understand them and make myself understood. Secondly, I have booked this hotel specifically because I attended an event (a wedding) nearby and I wanted to be close by when I arrived from the party. Imagine my surprise on the 25/26 of June at 2.00AM when I come to a room I have prepaid and I cannot get in. I called all the numbers available on your website and no answer. I try to knock, but no answer. I try my key card on the door, red light....on a valid key card. So, I had to find different accommodation at 2.00AM...imagine the lack of safety to be left on the street at that time. The worst problem was that I had an early flight....and I had to take my things out of your hotel by 7.30 AM. So, after booking another hotel in the area at triple the price, I wake up at 6.AM in the hopes that the hostal Artico would be open and I could take my personal belongings out of the room that I paid for.... But no! Surprise! The door was still closed! Also, imagine being inside with that closed door!! How do people get out? But than I find out you could get in trough the residential building. And it has a keycard reader. But my key card doesn't work. Finally I manage to be helped by a person exiting the residential. I go to the first floor. There is no sign to the hotel. But, luckily I see a keycard reader. And finally I get to my floor of my room. And I manage to get my things with 5 minutes before my flight was leaving. And the reception was still closed when I left.
Nobody from the staff ever mentioned a separate exit. Also, they never showed me how to enter if the door would be barred like it was in the night. Also on the 24th of June when I exited the hotel, the glass doors wouldn't react to me being in their proximity to open. And I find out 2 minutes later that they are locked from the inside. And because the person at the reception doesn't speak English he doesn't understant I want to go out of the hotel.
All in all, after my experience I am terribly disappointed. I am very distraught by the fact that I couldn't use the room that I paid for in full in advance.

Good enough
Spent a weekend in Madrid at this hostal. It was not perfect, the individual rooms are small and the bathrooms are incredibly small as well. However, it is confortable, heating and AC worked fine and the rooms were very clean. I didn't hear any noise from other guests or from outside and I slept well both nights. The staff was helpful, but you should know Spanish in order to communicate well with them. The price is good for what you get.
