Nice place, great welcome.

Hotel Cobut struck me as an odd place. It's a great old building in a beautiful location with a fab welcome. The beer is fresh and cold, the food simple but hearty.
The rooms are interesting! Ours was at the back of the hotel (5)so got the sun all day making it a bit warm. Leaving the window open meant listening to the constant barking of the dogs somewhere up river. Hurrah for earplugs!
The breakfast was really good and served in a room behind the bar. The room itself is a bit dark and tired but didn't matter to us!
Dinner was an outside event for us so we didn't use the restaurant inside. Good simple food served fresh if a smidge slowly (lots of us though)
It's just fine for a stopover for a few days. If your expectations are mid range youll be just fine.

This Hotel is permanently closed.

This former hotel became a large holiday home for 29 people. You can rent it as gite La Forgerie since August 2022. We rented it during the WE from November 17 to 19. It has a professional catering kitchen and is comfortable enough for a large group. The large garden is an asset.

Interesting Hotel

We stayed for 2 nights in a newly renovated hotel room. The modern bathroom was clean and spacious. There are lots of interesting stories about the hotel and its inhabitants and the owners love to share them. Dining room is kind of old fashioned with chandeliers, brings you back in time. Good breakfast buffet with freshly baked croissants. A wonderful place to stay for a few nights and explore the surrounding area.

Renovating - very cozy

New owners took over in Feb 2016 and they are hard at work renovating this charming hotel. We stayed in one of the new rooms and I couldn't get out of bed it was so cozy. The new owners have this great vision and are steadily progressing. Very nice people from Holland. So the hotel has a nice mix of old and new. And the location is fantastic, almost like a valley out of Game of Thrones with castles and abbeys dotting the landscape. Across the street were railcars you can peddle to one of the abbeys. The monk beer and cheese was expensive but I've never tasted better.
Definitely going again! Thanks!

Ne pas hesiter

J'ai passé une nuit dans cet hôtel le 11 janvier, l'accueil y est très agréable et simple, les patrons sont à votre écoute pour rendre votre séjour le plus agréable possible. L'hôtel est très simple, mais propre et calme, j'ai apprécié la douche italienne. Le point qui pourrait être amélioré c'est le déjeuner, il est correct pour la catégorie de l'hôtel, mais le choix est un peu juste.
