Recommended hotel

Very nice little hotel with comfortable beds. The integrated bathroom is a bit very tiny. Breakfast very good, delicious cakes and pies in the attached bistro. The lack of "real" gastronomy is not significant because in about 300 m distance there are very nice restaurants. The car park is conveniently located directly behind the hotel.
The included visit to the indoor pool "Juramar" is unfortunately not very useful because this family pool has plenty of unusable opening hours (usually from 13:00, closed on Saturdays)
The courtyard only has a theoretical view of Pottenstein Castle because of the tree population.

Good location

Good location for visiting Franconian Switzerland. The hotel is centrally located in Pottenstein and you can easily walk to other restaurants and the castle. The hotel rooms were renovated some time ago (2022?) and are now modernly equipped. Breakfast is very good. Fresh, crispy rolls and also things homemade with love. One day there was a salmon roulade. Bicycles can be safely stored in a storage room. Parking for the car is also available free of charge. We felt very comfortable and would be happy to come back.

Swimming pool attached

Located near the centre of picturesque Pottenstein and the big advantage of this hotel is that the price includes direct access to the municipal swimming pool complex (large main, splash & chute - sauna extra fee). The hotel is a throwback to the 1980s and décor still retains many of those original features. Comfortable bedrooms with balconies and refurbished en-suites. Breakfast room a bit dingy and soulless but reasonable spread. Café/bar area for communal usage. Friendly staff. Wi-fi hotspot with fast internet access. Free parking area. Appears to be popular with family groups so avoid main holiday times if bothered by the potential presence of feral children.

Newly Remodeled Hotel

Lovely newly remodeled hotel in the heart of Pottemstein. Great views of the castle from each room with a balcony. Lovely breakfast. Very quiet.Nice café for cake and coffee. Connected to the water spa with plenty of fun for both kids and adults. Lots walking / hiking/ biking paths. A great area for outdoor activities! Hotel has parking behind and an elevator. Very clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

Good, but

The hotel seems good, free parking, free breakfast, lift, but there is a charge for Wi FI in the room. The first German hotel on this trip that charge, rather mean. It's over 30°c and there is no Air Conditioning, but otherwise it's good ...
