I advise
A little trouble to find the Hotel, located outside the city surrounded by hill by the road.The warm Welcoming. The standard room clean bedding correct bathroom with toilet a little cramped especially toilet, traffic does not disturb , well soundproof, the cold negative point in the bathroom very unpleasant in this time September a little heating will be welcome .Restaurant very correct beautiful varied choice wines very affordable .Breakfast correct .Overall I advise very correct

Restaurant to avoid at all costs!
Very disappointed by this meal at Le Rivalet. We are locals, curious to discover the new team after the change of owners 4 years ago — bad surprise.
€40 menu (appetizer/main course/dessert) for 4 people. Appetizers: Tiny scallops on a dry and overcooked risotto; decent foie gras but the variations (orange, chocolate) completely masked the taste of the product. The beet verrine as an amuse-bouche was bland and had a distinct "fridge/not wrapped" taste.
Main courses: overcooked salmon, dry duck breast, all accompanied not by the potato croquettes announced on the menu but by a hastily mashed puree, also with an unappealing storage taste. When we asked the question, the waitress (who turned out to be the owner) dodged the issue by saying that the cook "hadn't had the time."
Desserts were below everything: Pavlova with a hard meringue, without the advertised blueberries; chocolate lava cake that had all the hallmarks of an industrial product; failed rhubarb clafoutis. Only the tuiles seemed truly homemade.
Only positive point: the wine. Cold service as soon as we asked questions about the freshness of the products. For this price, we are very far from the mark. Too bad, we were hoping to support a local establishment.

We had dinner at Le Rivalet on a Saturday night in the middle of the season — the dining room was almost empty, which, after this meal, did not surprise us. A decent welcome and service, but lacking a lot of professionalism; the waitress does not know the origin of the products.
On the menu, scallops were overcooked and very bland on a very sticky risotto.
The meat was swimming in sauce, the side dishes were not those indicated on the menu (waitress's explanation: "the chef didn't have time to make them into croquettes"!), but mashed potatoes that had a strong fridge taste! The salmon was way too overcooked, still with that mashed potato side dish.
The desserts, supposed to be "homemade" dishes, were also failures (no resemblance to a pavlova, unfinished clafoutis).
We understand that a change of ownership is a transition period, but for a 39.50€ menu, one has the right to expect a consistency and rigor that were clearly lacking that evening.

We took the menu at 39.50€ and we were very disappointed.
No foie gras, yet on the menu.
The uncooked, hard wine cock.
All in all the dishes have no taste, tasteless. Fortunately the wines were very good, Sancerre white and St Joseph red.
We also see that the waitress is not of the trade, she does not respond to customers' requests, error on the perfume of ice, error on the composition of the requested dishes, not very kind ...
In another area, toilets are inaccessible, let alone for people with reduced mobility, several steps and the door almost touches the toilet, where are the standards?
I don't recommend this restaurant, and I wouldn't go back.

good stop on the holiday route NORTH SOUTH or EAST WEST.
This hotel is ideally placed for a NORTH SOUTH or EAST WEST road break because it is located in the center of FRANCE. It is by the roadside but it really did not bother us because the soundproofing is correct. Nevertheless for the most sensitive it would be a shame not to enjoy all its advantages, even if it means bringing balls QUIES. Indeed the prices of the hotel are really reasonable and the comfort is good with very good bedding.
The restaurant is excellent and again, very well placed in quality/price.
In addition the owners are very friendly , and very helpful , Madam serves in the room with a smile and Monsieur came to help me carry my suitcases . The son has a solid training as a chef.
They're building a small pool downstairs from the property.
Feel free to stop and encourage such enterprising professionals.
