A Place of Charme is an accurate description

Il Rivalta bills itself as a "Place of Charme." And that's exactly what it is.
Let's start with the location. It's perfectly situated overlooking the Arno at the base of the beautiful Ponte Santa Trinita bridge, within walking distance of all the major historical attractions and restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially the front desk staff who must have gotten tired of my wife and I asking them to call taxi cabs for us!
The building itself is an elegant old structure that has been updated with all the modern conviences (though the elevator is quite small). Our suite (Room 100) was comfortable and roomy, with a fully stocked mini fridge, a comfortable king bed and a nice view of the courtyard from out windows.
The breakfast that was included in our three-night stay was tremendous, with plenty of fruits, pastries (including amazing apricot tarts), cold cuts and several hot offerings such as eggs, bacon and potatoes. At night, it becomes a full service restaurant and bar.
As much as we enjoyed all of those aspects, the best part of our stay was the time we got to relax on the hotel's hidden gem ... the rooftop terrace. In the morning, it offers some spectaular views of the Arno to the front and the Dumo to the rear. At dusk, it provides a romantic sunset vista over one of the most beautiful cities in the world!

The hotel was a little dated, but I think it’s supposed to be a vintage looking hotel. Staff was friendly. Overall wonderful stay

Organic foods, drinks and amazing roof top views and location. The courtyard and restaurant experience was exceptional and we can’t wait to book our trip back to Florence. Room 100 was fantastic and far exceeded our expectations. The staff were great from the kitchen to the restaurant. Well done

Perfect location and wonderful staff!

Our stay here was excellent from start to finish. On arrival we were welcomed by warm, friendly, helpful Reception staff who offered advice on all things local. We had booked a river view junior suite which was stunning. A good choice of seating areas in the shaded courtyard and in the hotel bars, which worked well for our group of 8.
We highly recommend the hotel for its excellent service, general facilities and perfect location as it is just a few minutes walk from most of the main attractions.
A truly memorable stay!
