Would highly recommend to anyone staying on Sado island.
On first arriving at the property and being greeted by the staff at the entrance to the reception staff they were all so friendly and helpful.
The property is fairly old but clean and cannot complain about the room or any of the facilities.
The room was listed as 10 tatami, single room type but was a good size and included a decent size bathroom room and separate toilet. Sleeping was on a futon which I found very comfortable.
The baths were great and had a separate indoor and outdoor bath.
Include in the price was breakfast which was excellent and once again here all staff were friendly and helpful.
Location was a bit of a challenge without a car but there is a bus stop directly in front of the property with two of the local bus routes accessible from it but Sado is so much easier with a car.

Great experience!

It's a lovely place! Service and food were great. The dinner featured fresh seafood that had been thoughtfully prepared. I loved my room. Japanese style, an there was a massage chair! The futon was very comfortable and I slept so well. Enjoyed the bath too. A little expensive for my budget but I'm so glad I came.

Hot springs, perfect food.

The weak alkaline hot spring was a good and pleasant public bath. The food and quantity in the private room were very delicious.
Also, although it was a bicycle trip, we were grateful for your thoughtfulness in providing storage space for the bicycles.

Great Ryokan

We landed on Sado islands in search of great sakes. Booked this ryokan without much anticipation, it turned out to be a gem. We have always prefer smaller onsen ryokan which usually has a more cozy atmosphere with local vibe. It was a surprise to arrived and found out this is a pretty large size ryokan. But the service is top notch, upon arrival, our luggage was taken care of and they valet the car. Room attendant was courteous and attentive. The room was super roomy with plenty of amenities. Onsen was wonderful as well, we took a quick soak before dinner and another one in the morning, excellent cure for jet lag and soured legs from walking. The dinner was glorious, each of us get our own crab! The famous Niigata rice (Sado is part of Niigata Prefecture) was cooked to perfection, springy and tasty! The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have had in Japan hands down. And best of all, the price was extremely reasonable.
