Escaping to Tulum: A Dream Come True
I stayed at The Waves Tulum for two unforgettable weeks, and from the very first moment, everything exceeded what I had imagined. The hotel had a modern design with natural touches that blended perfectly with the peaceful vibe of Tulum. As I walked through the entrance, I already felt calm and so welcomed.
My room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed. I woke up every morning to the view of the pool from my terrace, and I really appreciated having a fully equipped kitchen. It made me feel at home throughout my stay.
The pool areas were absolutely beautiful. I spent hours relaxing by the water, surrounded by palm trees and sunshine. The gym was great, and I also joined the sunrise yoga sessions on the rooftop. It was the perfect way to start the day.
The staff was friendly and helpful, always with great local recommendations. The location was peaceful but close enough to explore Tulum by bike.
Every moment I spent there felt like a gift. The Waves Tulum wasn’t just a place to stay. It was a place to feel alive.

Disaster in Tulum
The Waves Tulum is available on a condominium basis, which is not specified on booking.com when booking. The room is a complete mess, has not been done daily cleaning and missing towels, although they have been claimed have not been provided. When communicating all this to reception, no solution has been given.

Nice place, bad experience
The building is very nice, with nice gardens, but everything starts badly when you arrive by a terrible and very bad signposted road, if you come at night, the safest you will turn many times to reach the hotel.
The room for 2 people is fine, but we had many inconveniences, my girlfriend asked for a hair dryer and has nothing to lend, the pond of the toilet overflowed with water and we had to cut off the water, the location is very poorly marked and the access street is terrible, the attention of the staff, in general is very far away and no friendly, to everything you requested, the answer was no, there are no we have, etc.
The breakfast was macabre, as they indicate that it is a continental breakfast with 2 slices of packaged bread, coffee (very bad) or tea (only herbal waters), a plastic sachet with butter and another of jam, a glass of orange juice that they tell you is natural but it is not, everything else is additional.
The room at first glance looked clean and very tidy spacious and good, but then preserving in detail, the cornices and on the skirting boards of the ceiling, many spider webs, clearly the toilet does not pass by.
A place that could be very good, turns into a bad experience, my suggestion is that they start training staff, keep a clean keeper in all areas, as the details make a difference.

Very nice tulum but beware of money
The visit to Tulum we loved as well as its ruins and beach but we stayed at the Hotel the Wawes and there on the last day we were robbed of some of the money deposited in the safe. It was 10 people who were affected out of 14 and that clouded our vacation a bit. Of course a complaint was made to the hotel

Expected Better
The photos online are so misleading. It seems like a luxurious room with your own hot tub, but the hot tub was so filthy. I was first given a different room to what i booked, when I spoke to the guy at reception, he was rude and refused to do anything saying my reservation from booking.com doesn't show my reserved room. I didn't even book from booking.com but Agoda. He then says its my problem and I should sort it out with Agoda. What kind of hotel says that. Of course only you would have allowed Agoda to advertise your hotel in order for my reservation to go through. I understand if the room was not available, but at least be respectful. He finally after a waiting period allocated me a better room. The amenities are average. breakfast was awful, and so unhygienic.
The rooms are still decent, the pools are nice and although the location isn't so nice, only for the low price and like 1-2 nights, this place can be considered.
