What delightful people!

We were welcomed enthusiastically by two happy ladies who spoke no English. Our attempts to communicate were received in a most friendly manner. We stayed here for one night on our way to Arica and every time we spoke to one of the ladies, they laughed and were so pleasant. They felt like friends. They were interested in the visit and where we were going on our trip.
The bedroom had lots of hot water and the bed was comfortable.
The little restaurant next door served delicious food- simple but it tasted wonderful and it was inexpensive.
When we left one of the ladies gave me a present from Peru. It was such a kind touch. I will never forget our happy stay here.

Nice for a night, inexpensive

We stayed here for a night and were looking for something inexpensive. For the price it was perfect! The bed was circular and not comfortable because the mattress was hard and the linens scratchy, but for a night it was fine. The front desk person was helpful. The room we had had large windows into the hotel and it was a security risk in my opinion and also would not do if there was any noise at all. We were lucky and it was a quite night.

Very pleasant

Very friendly staff; large room and bath; clean; good bed, and a very strong wifi; hot water took a while to get there, but once it arrived it was hot. Location was OK at about 4-5 blocks from the main street. All at a good price.
It seemed that there could have been a building "echo" noise problem but we didn't experience any noise issues at night, so we got a good night's sleep.
I guess because Tacna is near the border with Chile but it seems the town has a lot of lodging for its size. But Takora Inn is worth checking out.

Really nice!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night whilst passing through Tacna on the was to Arica.
It is much more like a hotel than a hostel, the rooms are really nice, clean and well appointed. We had a circular bed!
Breakfast the next morning was adequate, but you only get one small plate of eggs between two.
The only downside was that the water was freezing. We let it run for a while and it got lukewarm...but that was it.
A nice hostel, just needs some hot water.

Cero seriedad con las reservas! No confiable! NO PET-FRIENDLY

Mi familia y yo siempre viajamos con mis perritos, ambos de raza pequeña. Por ello siempre antes de viajar, me aseguro de que los lugares en los que reservo admitan mascotas para no tener ningún inconveniente. Nunca tuve ningún problema hasta el día de hoy. Realicé una reserva vía telefónica que fue confirmada por Whatsapp con 5 días de anticipación a mi llegada, antes de hacer la reserva consulté si el hotel aceptaba mascotas de raza pequeña, les indiqué y especifiqué que viajaba con mis 2 perros, indicándoles la raza de los mismos para que se hicieran una idea del tamaño de éstos, a lo que ME AFIRMARON QUE NO HABÍA NINGÚN PROBLEMA y que la reserva quedaba CONFIRMADA. Se comunicaron conmigo días después para volver a confirmar la reserva, todo parecía ir bien. Sin embargo cuando llegué junto a mi familia y mis mascotas, la señora de recepción nos dijo que mis perros eran "grandes" y que BUSCÁRAMOS OTRO HOTEL porque los otros huéspedes se iban a incomodar. Le recalqué que al momento de hacer mi reserva les había especificado la raza de mis perros, que son de raza pequeña, y aún así me dijo que yo había mentido porque según ella mis perros no eran pequeños, asimismo nos dijo que en caso nos quedáramos, si los otros huéspedes se iban del hotel a causa de mis perros, nosotros tendríamos que pagar por sus reservas perdidas. Solicité hablar con el joven con quien hice mi reserva, al inicio se negó a llamarlo argumentado que tenía 25 años, que estaba estudiando y que no podía molestarlo, que seguramente él nos aceptó la reserva porque pensó que eran más pequeños. Al final me comunicó con él, pensé que el joven nos iba a dar una solución pero solo atinó a decirme que buscáramos otro hotel y que LA RESERVA NO SIGNIFICABA NADA, que él pensó que eran perros pequeños "un poco más grandes que un zapato" y que nos había dicho que podíamos hospedarnos con ellos porque el día que hicimos la reserva tenían el hotel vació y que no pensó que para el día de nuestra llegada se llenaría. Nos quisieron dar otras opciones de hoteles que eran de menor categoría, sin embargo quiero recalcar que encontrar un hotel que admita mascotas es muy difícil. Por eso es que considero que un establecimiento que ofrezca admitir mascotas debe ser muy serio respecto a ello. Nos trataron pésimo, nos hicieron perder tiempo, nos dejaron sin hospedaje, NO RESPETARON LA RESERVA QUE HABÍAMOS HECHO CON 5 DÍAS DE ANTICIPACIÓN. Al habernos confirmado que no había problema en hospedarnos con nuestras mascotas, viajamos con total confianza pensando que teníamos un lugar a donde llegar, para al final darnos cuenta que no era así. Una TOTAL FALTA DE RESPETO Y DE SERIEDAD en su servicio y atención. Si no aceptan mascotas deberían decirlo desde un inicio y no confirmar reservas para luego cancelarlas cuando el cliente ya llegó al hotel.
