An enchanted break, in the heart of Kigali!

A true haven of peace where Isabelle and Justine will delight you with their kindness and benevolence, in particular. A very very beautiful address and such a peaceful residence. I fully recommend it to you. Hiltons and co are clearly below their performance and can go and get dressed!

Avoid - unless you want to lose your money

I arrived at Villa Asimba with my booking confirmation and pre-payment receipt printed out for a 6-night stay, only to be greeted by the hotel manager, Isabelle, saying she had no record of my booking or payment. It was 2am, so I begged to stay if she had a room, to which she agreed, only after I paid again for that night.
The next day I contacted the booking platform (Agoda) to try to sort things out, and they followed up with Villa Asimba. I asked Isabelle if she could please help me get my money back by writing a statement for the booking agent confirming the situation. She refused and became angry.
The following morning I awoke to an email from the hotel owner, Justine (Isabelle's sister), telling me to leave due to the stress I was causing them! Isabelle told me angrily, "we like happy guests, you are not happy, so you must leave"! (A bizarre inversion of customer service.)
I was obliged to move to another hotel for the remaining 4 nights and am still trying to recover my money. To note that Villa Asimba told me they have no relationship with Agoda, but there would be no way of knowing this, since Agoda is still advertising Villa Asimba on their site.
Also, even assuming Villa Asimba had nothing to do with the loss of my money, they treated me with a complete lack of empathy or kindness in my predicament - it was horrible. I would not recommend anyone to stay there, ever. I have stayed in Rwanda dozens of times over many years and there are very many other lovely hotels to choose from.

Poor quality in reception and lack of respect ,bad manners…

Dear Asimba Villa, one of ur team who is may be in charge of receiving the guests is unprofessional,rude,I was very disappointed with her services that kind of behaviors ruin the whole image of the hotel, u should look for the qualified staffs.

To avoid

Watch out, tourist trap.
The accommodation is presented on Booking as a Pension when it is actually a much smaller guest house than the pictures.
Everything is paid and expensive on site, even air conditioning and possibly laundry in case of stain on bathroom linen.
A "banking fee" is charged by the property for credit card payments, without any prior information or valid reason.
It is a quiet and well-appointed area, but one does not feel very comfortable or free (gate open only on request, security cameras inside the Villa), as is the case in a Pension.
Far from the sense of welcome so present in Rwanda.

Nice discovery

Justine and her team ensure that you experience a perfect and carefree stay.
Everything arranged down to the last detail. Breakfast and, if desired, dinner at any time.
The gate is neatly closed, so you have a safe and pleasant feeling.
The rooms were great! Neat, spacious and well cared for.
Nice chats with the team!
