Where to stay in Dakar

The staff at Cafe De Rome are kind and always ready to help. The rooms are comfortable, food at the restaurant is good. The restaurant is open late so we always got food when back from work. My colleagues and I felt safe. I wished there was a gym!

Probably the best value for money in downtown Dakar

Location is perfect: near the Presidential Palace, the Place de l'Independance, the ferry to Goree Island and the Sandaga Market.
The room is spacious, modern, comfortable with a balcony.
The restaurant in the basement is perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner, too.

Hotel does not value Customer

I had been regular Business Traveler to Dakar - Senegal.
One of the Hotel i used to stay regularly and do meetings was at Hotel Cafe du Rome.
Stay experience was never value for money but i was preferring as it was near to my work meetings and was not sure about other nearby hotels.
Been regular customer does not help as they dont value it as hotel feels they are always in demand so they take customer for granted.
They have increased room rates which is not worth.
also if you try to extend your stay by hour or two, reception will charge you for day.
Today they lost regular customer.

Perfect for a short or long term stay

This very centrally hotel is just perfect. With a 24/7 reception that is very helpful. Staff customer service oriented. Room new and spotless. Parking at the doorstep managed and guarded by hotel security. Good exchange rates. Very good WiFi. Excellent TV reception. Soundproof windows to keep noisy traffic out. A spacious balcony to watch bubbly life going by. Shops, restaurants and pharmacies at walking distance. A special thanks to security guard Simon for arranging the ataya and the taxi driver arranged by the reception that drove us back and forth to the consulate and embassy.

Worth opting for the room with city view & large balcony

I booked a room with a view on the main street (rue de la république) rather than an ordinary room and I was happy with my choice.
There is 1 such room on each floor with an extra large balcony (room 21, 31, 41...) and the view on the street is nice with the 3 level's restaurant Caesar's in front, a school, and beautiful old trees.
You can put armchairs and a table from the room and feel well connected with the pulse of the city.
Of course, it can be noisy with the traffic, but the rooms are properly isolated when windows are closed.
Worth paying a little extra for this room if you plan to stay some time at the hotel.
