Noisy place & needs upgrading
Although the apartment has a nice view over the marina, it’s entrance is located in the street behind. A street with stripe clubs, night clubs and cheap restaurants. Although it is quite safe, it doesn’t feel comfortable especially for the women in our group. The apartment is located on the second floor and the stairs are not very well lit.
The apartment itself is large and has two floors. On the bottom floor there are three bedrooms with bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room. The top floor has more of a dormitory fell to it as it has a number of beds spread around across a large space. The beds themselves are OK by the way. The apartment was clean but a bit run down so it didn’t as clean as it might have been.
The biggest problem with the apartment came at night. Due to the fact that the entrance is located in this noisy backstreet, the noise at night is hardly bearable. Music and people talking loudly and shouting until the early hours in the morning kept most of the group awake for most of the night.
Another problem we faced was the fact that the owner or caretaker sent us a video on where to find the entrance and the keys. However this video was probably a couple of years old. None of the establishments shown in the video looked like the way they look now. Also the entrance yo the apartment building wad painted differently. I would urge the owner/caretaker to re-record the video.
Also there is the need for a deposit of €1000 for the stay. One of the ways to handle the deposit is by sending your credit card information to the owner/caretaker and that doesn’t feel safe. Please use the other option that is provided.
