The best experience

Location the best view of sunrise.
Atmosphere was great, very calm, very comfortable, very animated with kids at the pool, everyone seems heaving fun and relax.
The best room we ever had honestly, very clean, modern shower, there were two beds as one, very chic and comode. The quality and the money we spent was worthy, a good value.
We want to give special thanks to the waiters, they respect us very much, they work a lot and they make people to feel very good and welcome. The waiters deserve more, they are doing their best. We want to give them all the thanks! We really enjoy our 7 days there. Also the food was good with lots and lots of choices. The Beach was very good with clear and clean water you can see the fish. We will recommend everyone this resort for us was a beautiful experience.

Sun, sea, smiles and seafood!

Beach & Sea
Warm, calm, crystal‑clear water with a soft sandy seabed.
Stays shallow for hundreds of metres — ideal for families and non‑swimmers.
Colourful “Nemo‑like” fish right by the shore; some gently nibble your feet (harmless).
Four‑poster beach beds are free and genuinely luxurious — sea breeze, ocean sound, shaded comfort.
Plenty of sunbeds everywhere; no early‑morning rush needed.
Pools & Water Sports
Large, clean, warm swimming pool with family‑friendly depth.
Free water sports: kayaks, paddle boards, pedal boats, plus a catamaran if you can sail.
20‑minute sessions are more than enough and well‑managed.
Great for kids and adults looking for gentle activity.
Entertainment & Activities
Evening entertainment is surprisingly good — magic show and circus acts with real athleticism.
Animation team is warm, encouraging, and not pushy; you may need to approach them.
Kids’ activities are a great way for children to make friends.
Padel and tennis courts available — bring your own balls (hotel balls are unusably dead) and if you space to bring your own padel racquet then you play for free!
️ Dining & Snacks
Best food options: seafood, fish, prawns, sushi — consistently fresh and enjoyable.
Turkey and red meat are dry/chewy; chicken is fine but not memorable.
Stews can cause stomach upset — worth avoiding.
Desserts are disappointing compared to Turkish hotels; watermelon is the standout.
Soft drinks in the all‑inclusive are flat and fizzless — canned drinks (paid) taste far better.
Crepe/Waffle Snack Bar (3pm–6pm):
Included in the all‑inclusive, despite the menu board showing prices.
Only two items were labelled “all inclusive”, so we assumed the rest weren’t — staff never clarified.
Reception doesn’t proactively explain facilities unless you specifically ask “tell me about…”.
⚠️ Food Allergies (Important for Families)
Despite emailing ahead about my child’s allergies, management failed to inform the kitchen.
Kitchen manager apologised daily but still produced dishes containing one allergen while removing another (e.g., removing milk but adding nuts).
Allergy processes need improvement — parents should speak directly to the kitchen team on day one.
️ Shopping & Old Medina
Old Medina is vibrant, fun, and full of bargains; most traders are respectful.
Traders often use emotional stories (“my sister painted this”, “I work at your hotel”) — politely ignore.
Have a target price in your own currency and stick to it.
Same items appear in many shops — walk away if needed.
As an example, football shirts can be bargained down to ~40 dinars from initial 70–90.
Leave luggage space — you’ll likely find great deals.
Money & Currency Tips
Tunisian dinar is a closed currency — illegal to bring in or take out.
Don’t convert currency before travelling; buy dinars locally (hotel ATM is easiest).
You can often pay in GBP/EUR/USD at better rates than official exchanges.
Leftover dinars will be confiscated before reaching duty‑free.
Duty‑free and post‑customs restaurants charge in EUR/USD.
Towel cards require a 20‑dinar deposit — keep both card and towel safe.
Hotel Service & Practicalities
Reception gives minimal information unless you explicitly ask for details.
Snack bar inclusion was unclear due to incorrect signage.
Bring your own padel/tennis balls and racquets if you plan to play.
Plenty of sunbeds and shaded areas — very low stress.
⭐ Summary
A beautiful beachfront resort with outstanding sea conditions, great water sports, friendly entertainment staff, and plenty of space to relax. Dining is mixed, soft drinks are weak, and allergy management needs improvement — but with the right expectations and a few insider tips, you can have a fantastic family holiday.

Thank you for taking the time to share such an exceptionally detailed and constructive review of your stay at Le Sultan. Reviews like yours are invaluable as they help future travelers and allow us to continuously refine our guest experience.
I am delighted to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed our beach, the four-poster daybeds, our water sports, the evening entertainment, and especially our fresh seafood selection!
At the same time, I want to extend my sincere apologies for the shortcomings you experienced regarding food allergy management and the lack of proactive communication from our reception and snack bar teams. The safety and well-being of our guests—especially children with allergies—is a top priority, and it is clear that our internal coordination fell short of our standards in this instance.
Please rest assured that I am addressing this directly with our kitchen management and front desk leadership to ensure clearer communication protocols and stricter allergen controls moving forward. We are also reviewing our snack bar signage to avoid any confusion for future guests.
Thank you once again for your honesty, your helpful tips for other travelers, and your appreciation of our staff. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you and your family back in the future to show you these improvements firsthand.
Warmest regards,
Soloreiziger

An unfortunate stay..

Not the best experience as a family of four for ten days.
Pros - good location, overlooking the ocean, plenty of great views. Guaranteed sun. Sun loungers available.
Great a la carte outside, had brilliant food and service.
Cons - hotel room. The hotel room was very tired, especially the wet room. Damp damage, paint all over the place with marks on the wall and physical damage in the shower.
Buffet - small room, luke warm food. If its remotely busy the place is like a farm. Cross contamination everywhere. Not much change in food as the days progress.
Service around pool area - if you are use to Egypt / turkey level of service where you offer a tip and they continue to come back and serve you drinks, then don't. Took a tip and brought us a round then didn't see again. Just walk by occasionally and take your empty glass. Standard 15-20 min wait at the one pool bar. Most drinks are unpleasant. Tip - go to the indoor bar, a further walk but usually less waiting time.
Ants - the place has a serious ant problem, inside the buffet area, on the patio, in the beach sand, on the grass outside where the loungers are and we're even crawling up the lounger and into our drink.
Litter - the beach is filthy. Cups, beer tops, ciggerates, ants, general litter all in the sand. Security don't bother stopping the locals trying to sell you their items either. Had to stop one trying to sell my 10 year old something as I want in the water.
Air con - the air con in the room sounds like a running bath, difficult to sleep with but you had no choice as its so hot.
Entertainment - 10pm it starts. You eat around 8 and find yourself sat in the one small area remaining crammed in with everyone else for over an hour waiting for mediocre entertainment to start. Would help if it started at 9pm. Even then, we hung around as determined to try and make the most of the holiday but found a bif of food on the floor that hadn't been cleared (as during the day the entertainment section is also a le carte) and ants were swarming it and we're trying to get up your table. So we left.
Random beehives (thankfully old) that they can't even be bothered to clear from your balcony..
Wouldnt come back, hotel needs serious re investment. 3/10.
