Nice hotel in a quiet location

Never again – cleanliness and respect are missing
Very unhygienic – not recommended
I booked a two-storey villa. It smelled unpleasant as soon as I entered. There were heavily soiled pillows and duvets in the closet, and under the fitted sheet there were stained, discolored mattress protectors – all documented with photos/videos. The bathrooms and showers were also heavily calcified and visibly dirty.
The owner only changed the pillows, the rest remained dirty. When I pointed this out again, her husband (probably co-owner) immediately offered me a refund to leave rather than solve the problem.
I said I wonder how the hotel got such good reviews.. The owner said guests probably don’t look under the fitted sheet – and even asked me: “Why are you looking underneath?”
Instead of an apology, there were excuses – unacceptable to me. In the end, I stood with my three children without a hotel.

Superb!
We have just returned from 2 weeks at Marphe and have loved every minute! We were originally in an apartment (great for a larger group with 1 double bedroom & 2 z-beds in the living room and a fully equipped kitchen including gas hob, large fridge freezer and washing machine ). We found it too big and not cosy for the two of us, so moved to one of the suites on day 2 - minimum fuss and we were given the use of both rooms for the afternoon, so were not rushed into transferring over.
Our suite had a separate living area with small kitchenette , balcony bedroom and bathroom with shower - all very roomy. Usually we spend very little time in our rooms, but this was so lovely we often sat and read books or enjoyed a drink on the balcony.
The pool areas ( of which there are two) are beautiful and surrounded by really pretty gardens. Plenty of sun loungers and also nice shady nooks to escape the sun.
The main pool has a bar & snack bar alongside - this is also where breakfast and dinner are served. We had breakfast some mornings with a nice variety of cheeses, fruit, breads and lovely jams. Omelettes available on request.
Everywhere is spotlessly clean.
The crowning glory of this boutique hotel is the people. Friendly and unobtrusive yet always there exactly when we need them. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone is exceedingly friendly.
Convenient location - Being just outside of the main town (short taxi ride at around 35TL) means that the hotel is very peaceful compared to town which was a nice contrast.
I would not hesitate to recommend Marphe if you are looking for a quiet elegant retreat that is equally suitable for couples or families.

A quiet resourcing evening in Datça
I only stayed a night but would have loved to stay longer! The hotel is located outside of the busy area so it's much quieter. We rented a villa. It was huge with a large living-kitchen area (with a large fridge), 2 rooms with their own bathroom (showers), a large front terrace and 1 smaller one on the side, 3 toilets (one downstairs in laundry room, and one in each room). So yes, it was very big. It's also very nicely decorated, you just feel at home when you enter the villa. We only had a little issue with hot water in one of the room, but fresh water with hot temperature is not that bad ;)
There are two swimming pools. One in the area of the villas and one at the restaurant. We did prefer the one at the restaurant as it was larger and more quiet. Furthermore, it gives you the opportunity to grab a drink and a snack, which brings me to the next review: drinks, food and service.
Restaurant/Bistro: staff was very friendly and helpful. Though we didn't eat there in the evening, all that we ordered was excellent (I strongly advise the apetizer/mezze plate which is delicious). We also took our breakfast. I would just give one small advise: change the orange and red fruit juices (better to limit quantity for quality). We tried all their jams and it was yummmmmmie!
Reception: what a warm welcome! The owners are always smiling and always ready to help you. They even allowed me to have a very late check out.
