Blue Iris ligt in de wijk Nantucket Town in Nantucket. Twee lokale bezienswaardigheden zijn Fire Hose Cart House en Quaker Meeting House. Voor wat leuke activiteiten ben je bij Nantucket Ferry Terminal en Cisco Brewers aan het juiste adres. White Heron Theatre en Dreamland Film and Performing Arts Center zijn ook zeker het bezoeken waard. Dit rookvrije hotel heeft niet alleen een tuin, maar ook gratis ontbijt en gratis wifi in gemeenschappelijke ruimtes. Blue Iris heeft 12 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van een espressoapparaat. Alle bedden hebben luxe beddengoed. Elke flatscreentelevisie heeft kabelzenders. Elke badkamer heeft een bad of douche met een regendouche. In dit hotel in Nantucket is wifi gratis, met een snelheid van 50+ Mbps. Een schoonmaakservice is dagelijks beschikbaar.

We loved our stay at the Blue Iris. It is convenient to town and transportation. The suite was perfect for our family. Thank you for a wonderful few days!

Very poor value for money, terrible staff. A complete failure.

The hotel’s location and décor are nice, but that is really the only thing this place has going for it. The staff is completely incompetent, as well as particularly rude and lazy.
The four bicycles provided by the hotel (for all guests!) are broken, and there is never a single one available anyway.
The breakfast — if you can even call it that — is pathetic: a croissant, a muffin, a small jar of jam, and a bowl of cold porridge that has to be ordered in advance. For the price of the room (USD 1,000 per night!), you don’t even get a glass of orange juice or a small savory breakfast buffet in the morning, despite the fact that there is a kitchen and a nice yard. Absolutely disgraceful.
The sinks in the rooms are ridiculous — they are barely bigger than hand-washing basins.
The two suites are also extremely dark. The bedroom in the Deluxe Suite is located underneath the stairs, with no view whatsoever. Access to the tiny bathroom (note that there are no shelves or towel racks to put things on or hang clothes, very poorly designed…) is through the master bedroom. The two-bedroom suite is on the third floor with access through a very narrow staircase and is not luxurious at all compared to the other rooms: it is very dark, with three ridiculous windows offering no view and virtually no lighting (there are no lamps to make up for the lack of natural light).
There is also no possibility of using the pool at the sister property or having breakfast at the Faraway (also a sister property).
In short, what was supposed to be one of the hit spot of our vacations was very disappointing. Terrible value for money and definitely a place to avoid on the island.

So enjoyed our stay at the ever-so-charming Blue Iris in Nantucket! Needed a bit of help before we even arrived and were taken care of perfectly. We were always greeted by friendly staff coming and going from the house. We stayed in room #5, which was so cute and private. The room was small, but comfortable and the bathroom had plenty of space for 2. We even decided to spend a little extra time there in the afternoons because we liked it so much. Morning service offered coffee…and wine was available in the main common area in the evenings. We walked to breakfast and the shoppes were within a block of our house. We felt safe walking to late dinners which was a nice change of pace and super easy to navigate. The Blue Iris has a few bicycles for guests to enjoy & we rode to bfast one morning. They even offer the motorized-type bicycle as well as cute blue bicycles…both have baskets!
Don’t miss the shaded and spacious courtyard area with small tables & comfy seating. You can pick up lunch to eat there or enjoy a drink before heading to dinner. Because The Blue Iris does not have a restaurant/bar on site, so guests may enjoy Sister Ship @The Faraway…which is very close by ;)
I booked our room online, which was very easy to do and I rcv’d emais/texts w/ reminders and upcoming travel information when our date to leave was close.
The photos on their website are very true representations of what you’ll see…and I think it was even nicer in person.
Highly recommend for an A+ stay!
