Feeling home

We had a great stay at Huellas Andinas while on expedition trip for climbing Aconcagua. Great staff that cares about the guests.. Relaxing atmosphere with lots of helpful information. Location is in a safe area on a walking distance from the centre of Mendosa. Good fun and traveller's exchange stories.

Absolute flophouse!!!

This place is a flophouse for wannabe be "street kids". When I first arrived there was a woman sleeping on the floor hidden behind a couch in the reception area. This should have told me something. I believe I was the only paying guest at the hostal, but there was a steady stream of locals swinging by to suck down cigarettes and swill cheap beer. It was loud until 2:00am when four of these locals came into the dorm to crash out for the night. No towel provided, shower only had scalding hot water that you couldn't physically stand under, there was a cigarette butte IN the shower, the hostal cat has pissed all over everything in the courtyard, and no breakfast provided. It is quite possible the actual owner has unknowingly allowed a handful of heroin addicts "run" the place for him. I hate suggesting something like that, but I honestly believe it may be the case. I'm considering trying to contact the actual owner to tell him how sad it is because it could be a fantastic hostal...

Disgusting.

Awful. Disgusting. There are flies over the reception or main room. The price, $130.00 pesos, was really expensive for the place. It doesn´t worth $40,00 pesos. I had to spend 2 nights over there, because it was the only place that still was available (guess why?) and in the third I´d rather stay awake that stay into this crap. It might seem exagerated, but not. I don´t see how someone can rate this thing well. On top of all, in the bedroom for two, the upper bed was almost falling over, so imagine dying iin the middle of this crap. I would NEVER stay in this place again. In top of all, of course, the bathrooms were dirty and disgusting. I would say the whole place was dirty, kind of dark, and the upper view seems to lead to one of the so called "favelas" of Rio de Janeiro. Horrible.

Very disappointing!

My bf and I booked into this hostel for 2 nights. On the the third day had booked a wine tour for 14:30 through them, wich was pretty much the only thing I really wanted to do in Mendoza. Arrived back at the hostel for 14:30, and at nearly 15:45 still no show of the bus taking us to the wine tour. The guy we booked it through - Francis didn't seem to care as was playing games with his bf and then left to go home. I don't think he even booked us on the tour in the first place!
We managed to get the money back, but that wasn't the point as we really wanted to do the wine tour! Very disappointed with the staff and the hostel isn't great either, quite dirty and my bf had to fix the bathroom door for them! Don't bother!

Incorrect hostel

I booked a hostel in the centre of Mendoza and was informed hostelz.com had booked us somewhere else. We jumped on a bus got off in the middle of nowhere expecting at least a pool and wifi, but getting neither. All I can say is the man that worked there was awesome!
