BEST restaurant experience on the island

We had lunch here on a recent day trip to the East coast - we popped in hoping for a table and got one with the best view.
Firstly the cocktails are insanely good, if you’re a fan of a Bloody Mary then the signature BM is a must try but equally the Sorrell or Tamarind Rum Punch are just incredible.
I see other reviews mention the food takes a while to come;
Firstly you’re in the Caribbean! Relax, unwind and chill at the local pace - but more importantly good food takes time and we did not mind waiting at all especially when the staff were so good at keeping our drinks topped up and checking we were ok.
The wait for food was SO worth it, we had oyster mushrooms and Bajan fishcakes for starter, folllowed by Mahi Tacos and Burger for main. All super tasty and great sized portions.
For us what really set the Round House apart from other restaurants on the island is the atmosphere and impeccable customer service. The staff all make you feel like they are genuinely happy to have you there and are so attentive to making sure you have everything you need. This is the only restaurant on the island we opted to tip on top of the service charge included!
A special shout out to Shontelle who looked after us so well.

Terrible service

We arrived towards the end of lunchtime without a reservation. The restaurant appeared half empty. We were seated within 10 minutes and offered water. We waited at our table for around 30 minutes and the server advised us after about 20 minutes that she would be back to take our order. She didn’t return. We hadn’t even been given any water even though she’d walked past with a jug (there were no glasses on our table). Even though there are very limited options in the area we felt we had no option but to leave and try and find somewhere else.

Average food

An amazing setting with very friendly service. The food and drinks are average and we felt had gone down since our last visit a year ago.

Nice spot for lunch but will only accept two cards per table

Seven of us went for lunch, and it is a lovely location with a nice view of the bay and (sometimes) surfers. The food was good, although two of the group felt that the fish was a bit dry but OK, my blackened Catch of the Day was delicious. However when it came time to pay we were informed that they can only swipe two cards per table, meaning two of us had to pay the bill with the others owing. So really not a suitable venue for larger groups.

Fabulous location, average food.

Staff were very pleasant but service was a little haphazard. Our meal was ok but sadly not in the same league as other restaurants we have found in Barbados. Such a shame as the location is fabulous. It was a real pleasure sitting watching surfers enjoying the waves.
