Our stay at this hotel was completely successful!
The cleanliness was top, both in the rooms and in the spacious sauna area, which invites you to relax.
The food was a real highlight: Fresh, delicious and prepared with regional ingredients. Especially the warm cooks made you feel at home.
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
The rooms could be a bit more modern, but were clean and perfectly adequate. The central location close to the train station is another plus.
Overall, the value for money was more than just right – we would book again anytime!

For once, experience is enough for us.

We were eating at the restaurant, I had stag goulash and a cappuccino. Both cappuccino and stag goulash were not special. The meat and the red cabbage were cooked and the red cabbage without taste (finished product). My wife had salmon with spinach. The potatoes on it were not even peeled. I don't think there's a professional cook here, more like a housewife. The food wasn't nicely arranged either. For once, experience is enough for us.

Catastrophic and dangerous to health

Unfortunately, we had to eat outside or probably a "partner" hotel on two evenings.
On December 26th, 2023 there was a buffet - really bad. On December 27th, 2023 we were able to order from the menu. Here, however, food was served from the large number of leftovers from the previous evening. Some of the potatoes were put on the plate gray. The schnitzel was gray under the breading. The beans were from the day before - bean salad. Totally acidic. Cucumbers from the day before - cucumber salad. Vinegar dip.
The most amazing thing, however, was the view of the storage of the frozen food. Some of them were placed on the floor in front of the freezer. The food from the day before was just covered with foil in a box.
The red fruit jelly was a slumber - it is simply placed in a compartment without a lid, without foil or anything similar. That means every little animal, every person can do as they please. Poke in. Spit in. Dirt can blow in, etc.
This will certainly have repercussions - we have of course captured this on camera.

We felt comfortable all around

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights with half board. The rooms were functional, clean, and the beds were comfortable. A varied breakfast buffet and an extensive menu. Very good connections to Wernigerode and Bad Harzburg and a great location at the start of the Ilsetal for a hike up the Brocken. But a big compliment goes to the staff, always friendly and knowledgeable, and it was simply unbelievable what the kitchen and service achieved with a small number of staff and a large number of guests!!!!!! Good German cuisine. So simple, but sooooooo delicious!!! Asparagus, trout, steak, it doesn't get any better than that. You are the DREAM TEAM.....

Beware of OVERBOOKING

We had booked two nights for 15 people in April 2023, which were also confirmed. We wanted to make a reservation for dinner and received a cancellation by phone ONE week before arrival with the reason OVERBOOKING. What was particularly annoying was that free rooms were offered on booking portals and on the hotel's website, but at much higher prices than our original booking!!
