A very nice option for those who like to be on the move! Hotel «Bauer» is located in Sonthofen. This hotel is located 2 km from the city center. You can take a walk and explore the neighbourhood area of the hotel. Places nearby: Lech Fall, State Gallery in the High Castle and St. Mang's Abbey..It’s time to have a nice meal! Stop by the restaurant. Specially for tourists who travel by car, there’s a free parking zone. The following services are available At the hotel for winter sports fans: a skiing area, a ski school and ski passes. You won’t be bored as at the hotel you will find a barbeque area..Want to have an excursion? Consult the tour assistance desk of the hotel. Pets are welcome here. Additional services that the hotel offers to its guests: an ATM and a safe-deposit box. The staff of the hotel will be happy to talk to you in English and German.

Only advise against it.

We probably got the oldest of all the rooms that existed (70s). Cramped, floor extremely dusty, bathroom fan only worked for a short time via a switch.
Breakfast: Selection very sparse, missing cutlery, coffee was out, juice was out, there were no breakfast eggs (it was offered to notify the service if you wanted one, but the service was not on site). So if something was missing, you had to go to the front office to let them know.
Price: much too high for such poor service ($154 for a double room).
In addition, when you ask about the price, you are given the room rate. When it comes time to pay, the tourist tax is suddenly added to the price, WITHOUT this having been even remotely mentioned beforehand, let alone how much it is!

Finger weg!!!

The hotel is really rocked down and located on a busy road. Rooms and bathrooms (pink tiles) are from the 70s. Breakfast is underground, coffee is the purest places and the rest comes from the tube. Those who arrive later than 8am will only get the leftovers. To call for more than 15€ I think is sporty. The double room icl. Breakfast for 148€ is disproportionate to the price. The only good thing is that it's clean. I'm sure we won't be back.

Older guesthouse with simple rooms

The inn and its owners are very old. The furnishings have not been updated for a long time. But it was clean and - unlike many other hotels - there were two seats in the double room. The bed was OK, but the room and bathroom were quite small. It was nice and quiet at night. The price is a bit excessive for this inn. The breakfast was surprisingly good.
For dinner: In keeping with Henry Ford's saying (you can have a Ford in any color - as long as it's black), there was a huge selection for dinner, namely only schnitzel.

Traditional compact hotel

Four of us on a motorcycle tour. My overall impression is that the Landhotel Bauer is a family run, well established hotel. We found it to be clean and basic, and staff are friendly, though they won't rush to serve you - you'll need to seek them out! Showers are small - you know; the type where one false move and you change the water temperature. A real plus is the secure parking for motorcycles. The owner is an ex-biker and understands what's needed, and is very welcoming.
The food is good and not expensive. There are no bars or restaurants nearby. With the hotel being isolated (it sits on the edge of a residential area) and us not wanting a big night out, we settled for a few quiet beers on the patio area. Prices are favourable, so we were happy with our quiet night.
A supermarket is 2 minutes down the road - very handy for stocking up if you're on the road. There's also a large motor supplies shop nearby, similar to the UK's Halfords shops.
I would recommend the Landhotel Bauer for couples and small groups. I wouldn't say it is ideal for families or honeymoon couples.

Just fine, grumpy service

We stayed here in the apartment with our family. it was spacious and mostly clean--the floors are dirty carpets and the sheets are all pilled and not comfortable. The breakfast was ok, nothing special but decent enough. The woman who runs the joint is not so friendly but luckily we knew that ahead of time so it didn't bother me. But still...
