Hostal Alcala

Hostal Alcala in Quito has served tourists from around the world since 1998. Located in the famous La Mariscal district 300 meters from the Plaza Foch, tourist heart of Quito, with its high concentration of restaurants, cafés, bars, tour operators, nightclubs and souvenir shops and only minutes from downtown and other attractions, in addition to all major transportation lines. We have communal spaces, patios, terraces and TV room with fireplace and free WiFi. Well-equipped kitchen and free use self-service coffee and tea for our guests. All our rooms are perfects to your stay in Quito, they have cable TV and private bathroom with hot water 24 hours a day. The famous breakfast that is included in the price is served from 7:30 am to 9:45 am. This includes eggs, fresh fruit, juices, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cereals, butter and homemade jam.

A great place with the friendliest owner!

Alcala is a perfect place to stay alone or with your partner. It's clean and homely, with good breakfast and the most helpful and welcoming owner. It's quiet despite being located in a noisy naighbourhood. Highly recommended!

Amazing time at Hostal Alcala

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Hostal Alcala for a couple of nights. The beds are super comfortable, everything is clean, and breakfast is so good! Eggs, toast, tea, coffe, fresh fruit and a delicious smoothie! The staff was so friendly and welcoming during our whole stay. A perfect place to stay if you want to explore Quito.
We totally recommend staying at Hostal Alcal!

Rude staff. No service.

Rude staff. The guys sometimes laughs, but the woman who works at the hostal is really rude.
I was working on my laptop in one of the common rooms. The woman came in and yelled at me that I had to move, while all the other tables and couches were not taken. How can you wish this from a guest and yell at him? I told her politely that I was sitting there already the whole morning and did not move, put my headphones on and continued working. Even with my headphones on, she was still yelling at me :)
The morning after she was still really rude. Being a good host for your guests is what is all about in a good hotel/hostal, especially when you pay 30 dollars for a room.
Breakfast is just like any other breakfast in Ecuador. Bread, Jam/Marmelade, Butter.

You can hear everything

Like other people has already written it's a really good choice for people on a budget. The rooms are really bad isolated and you can hear everything, including the couple in the room on the opposite side on the corridor having a cosy time. But for a tight budget it's really good, the breakfast could be improved and we didn't get that much information when we checked in. It said free coffee all day but we never figured out where. And the owner was a bit scary so we didn't dare to ask. He wasn't angry or impolite but had a really stern voice when you asked about things, so we stopped asking.

Excellent accommodation experience!

Everything was perfect during our stay; the location is amazing, the entire place was clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful... A great experience to enjoy Quito!
Will totally recommend this place!
