Close to Laxman Jhula, Far From Expectations
The first red flag was check in, which took far longer than expected. From there, nearly every staff interaction required persistence. Our rooms had visible hygiene issues despite being "Deluxe" category. Basic items like tea/coffee sachets, cups, towels and drinking water were missing on arrival, and getting them required 3 to 4 calls each time with long waits in between. Shockingly, staff entered our rooms using their own keys to drop towels while we were out, without our consent. On another day, we requested housekeeping at 10:30 AM, and by 6:30 PM it still hadn't been done. Their excuse was that it was scheduled "between 6 and 8 PM."
The smart TV needed internet to function, but the Wi Fi was down for most of our stay and was never fixed despite our complaints.
One particularly frustrating incident involved retrieving our car from the basement parking. Staff don't tag keys to vehicle numbers, and in our case another car was blocking our exit with its key missing. We waited over 20 minutes, made follow up calls, and the staff member who finally arrived left to "fetch another key" and never returned. We ended up operating the car lift ourselves just to get out.
The "high tea" included in our package turned out to be just a cup of tea with cookies, served late with no real setup. The rooftop restaurant's advertised "live music" was simply loud recorded songs played over speakers. Check out, requested at 9:30 AM, only got completed at 10:30 AM due to staff shortage. The pool area had a strong chemical smell that made it unpleasant to use.
The location is genuinely good, close to Laxman Jhula and the main Tapovan area. But that alone can't make up for these operational failures.
Best suited for solo travelers or couples who care more about aesthetics and location than service. Not recommended for families or pilgrims who need reliable, dependable service.
