Beautiful hotel in a great location
Robert is the owner and always present to help with anything you need. He is most pleasant. The hotel is historic and strikingly beautiful. Dont miss the multi-level rooftop garden. Wonderful breakfast and great location. We will be back

Our hosts were very attentive and accommodating to our needs. It is a beautiful, well maintained property and a block from the Colosseum.

fascinated by the hotel's stories
A wonderful hotel, where the whole family works with passion and dedication. It is a true Roman noble palace, built in 1870, which has gone through history and arrived to the present day preserving all its charm.
The family has been here since 1990 and the head of the family works every day, even on Christmas and New Year's, with great commitment to offer his guests a comfortable, quiet, and history-rich stay.
Breakfast is served in a simply splendid room. An elegant and charming environment where I felt like a true Roman queen. It was served by their aunt, a very sweet and thoughtful person, who made the moment even more special.
It is a place where you don't just stay: you experience a piece of Rome's history, surrounded by the hospitality and warmth of a family.
If I return to Rome, without a doubt I will stay here again. Highly recommended ❤️

Loved it
We loved our stay at Hotel Celio. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the location is excellent — very walkable to plenty of restaurants, with a small grocery store right down the street.
The hotel's decor is really lovely in the rooms and everywhere else. The floors were my favorite detail (they're almost glittery with gorgeous mosaics), and the rooms feel unique and authentic rather than hotel-common. They're clean and grand with very tall ceilings. One of our rooms even had a little secret patio with a doorway from the bathroom, which was such a nice surprise. Breakfast was a highlight too.
I read reviews about the Wifi and want to make sure to mention our experience - we had no issues at all and my sons had to both take video meetings for school while here. I loved the decor so much that i took a video of the floor!
If we're back in Rome, we would love to return.

Skip this one
I advise skipping this hotel. I was double-charged mistakenly and I am having great difficulty getting it corrected. The manager refused to help me correct the mistake when I said I had only booked one room. I have had to enter a dispute with my credit card company. The beds are very uncomfortable. The Colosseum is a difficult area to find lodging that is reasonable. It is also super crowded and touristy so the restaurants aren't great with the exception of Contrario which is amazing. Highly recommend eating there. It is better to visit the area for the day and stay in another part of town such as Ludovisi where the hotels are much, much nicer.

If you book two double rooms for four nights under a non-refundable rate, you cannot later post a negative review simply because you lost the money you paid.
During the high season, not only in Rome but everywhere, when you choose a non-refundable rate, you cannot expect a refund, as the rooms were reserved exclusively for you and remained unavailable to other guests.
In the future, when making an online reservation that requires immediate payment, I suggest asking someone with more experience to help you understand the booking conditions before confirming the reservation.
