Hotel Diamond ligt op slechts 3 minuten lopen van het station Shin-Imamiya (JR- en Nankai-lijnen), en biedt eenvoudige, betaalbare accommodatie in Japanse stijl. Er is gratis WiFi beschikbaar in de lobby en er zijn drankautomaten aanwezig.

1.5 Stars is incorrect about Hotel Diamond. It deserves 2 Stars. It is easy (but not fast) to access from KIX, steps away from the Osaka subway system, and in an area with grocery and convenience stores within 5 min walk. For a budget option, 2 Stars; well deserved.

If you love a cold concrete slab you'll be in heaven, just if you can manage to not need wifi unless you enjoy the locals smoke area and can get the job done in a quick manner before you join them. At least the washrooms are kept up and are mostly modern models

Unique experience in a class of its own
Had booked 2 nights here during my backpacking trip. We stayed one night as we simply didn't dare anymore. I think there was a pounder in the lobby and it smelled like dog shit. But clearly one of my strongest memories from our trip to Japan anyway. Highly recommended for a very unique experience!

Full of ticks
I stayed on September 13, 2023.
I woke up several times during the night because of the itching.
When I woke up in the morning, my whole body was covered with insect bites.
When I went to the hospital, I was told that I had more than 70 tick bites all over my body.
I had planned to stay for two nights, but I couldn't stay in a room with ticks, so I spoke to the front desk, but they said they couldn't refund my money. I put my luggage away and returned the key to the front desk, but they were slow to respond and told me I was spacing out. It was so insincere.
I have taken action to claim medical expenses through my lawyer.

Diamond in the rough
Location is definitely its best asset. Drawback however is if you are not used to hearing vehicles passing by as it is located in a major high-way road. On a positive note, it is very near the East Exit of Shinimamiya JR station and even relatively near for the Nankai Line and JR’s West Exit.
While it is true, the hotel is old and outdated, the LOWEST possible payment I have found in Japan more than makes up for it. Paid for about JPY 1100 (or approximately PhP 550 / USD 10.something)
Cleanliness depends on the hotel location. The lounge was not clean when I stayed there after the Nankai train incident during my arrival after hotel reception hours. Rest room on the 6/F has a funny smell (Karaage-like but not the restaurant type of smell).
Space is expected to be limited but if you can work within minimal space it will do. Your luggage though will serve as your drawer. There are plenty of hangers on my room assignment so at least I have 2-day worth of wardrobe prepared.
Shower (for male) if you are aware of onsen style can be off putting and make you uncomfortable. They exchange a shower locker key for your rook key temporarily while you take a bath (sometimes with other people but on rare occasion you might be finally alone - like opening time at 6AM)
Security / Privacy may be concerning since visitors stay in the lobby (as verified by them during my supposedly check in) in the after hours of the day. Anyone can literally just go inside since the door has no pin lock unlike the hotels I have stayed in Japan previously.
Lastly, the staff members were mostly (if not all Senior Citizen) as far as I have observed. I was trying to find their website so I can communicate with them directly but apparently they don’t have. So I just communicated with them via Booking.com Chat function but their response may be dependent on their staff who may have knowledge in conversing in English.
Overall, I am still satisfied and will choose the same hotel if the price would be relatively lower than other options. However, if it is quite comparative then I would probably opt out to get to try if other options would be more comfortable.
