I had a much better experience this time. The room was spacious, clean, and located on the fourth floor, so it was very quiet. The hot water was excellent, and the fan kept the room comfortable. I also really appreciated the staff’s honesty, they had kept an item I accidentally left behind during my previous stay for over a week and returned it to me. That meant a lot. This visit completely changed my impression, and I would gladly stay here again.

I stayed here before and had a disappointing experience, so I was hesitant to book again. However, this time was much better. I was given a larger, brighter, and very clean room with a fan, away from the nighttime noise. The bathroom was spacious, and the shower did not flood the entire bathroom like it did in the smaller rooms. The receptionist was also very kind and allowed me to check in early, which I really appreciated. This stay was a significant improvement over my previous visit.

This experience was honestly very frightening. For the second day in a row, a hotel maid attempted to enter my room despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign being displayed. She even forced the door open, which left me feeling scared and unsafe.
I became so uncomfortable that I started placing a chair behind the door at night for extra security. I also sent a complaint to the hotel through the app, but I never received any response.
Throughout my stay, I felt the need to lock away all my belongings whenever I left the room because I did not feel secure at all. Guests should be able to trust that their privacy and safety will be respected.
Unfortunately, I already have another non-refundable reservation at this same hotel for next week. Because of this experience, I am even considering buying a camera to leave in the room while I am out—something no guest should ever feel the need to do.
Respecting the “Do Not Disturb” sign and ensuring guests feel safe in their rooms should be a basic standard at any hotel.

Convenient Location, Unacceptable Room Conditions

I stayed at Hotel Monarca for one night (March 13–14) during my trip to Mexico City.
The hotel is located in a great neighborhood, which made it convenient to explore the area, and the staff was genuinely kind and helpful throughout my stay.
However, the experience was disappointing overall. The room was not clean — there was visible lipstick on the bedsheets and dirt on the floor, which is unacceptable. The bathroom was extremely small, and the window wouldn’t close properly. On top of that, it was very noisy throughout the night, making it difficult to rest.
Considering the price I paid for just one night, it was absolutely not worth it. I expected a much higher standard.
I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made.

I would have prefered a mini fridge in the room to keep some water, ice cream, bottled juices for my wake up and bed time
