Kololo Guesthouse

"Kololo Guesthouse" reminds me of the Classic Western film ,"The Good,The Bad and the Ugly" as it is situated in the middle of a semidesert highway leading to Windhoek and devoid of much human movement.
Everyone uses a vehicle and car's are leased on rent for backpackers and tourists at "Kololo Guesthouse".. I was the odd tourist walking or using a taxi.My " Log Hut cabin No 10" in "Kololo Guesthouse" had a excellent "Air-Cooler" akin to a air conditioner and self contained "Toilet/Bath". Natural green art decor. If a artist or a writer this place is good for total isolation.The couple Neil and Sonia. Sandmann ,proprietors of "Kololo Guesthouse" owned 3 dogs, two Golden retrievers and a wire hair /Jack Russel mix terrier. Wild West farmhouse style living.

It feels like family!!

My room is very spacious, with air-conditioner, tv, kettle, fridge, etc! Daily cleaning service and fresh towels too!! There is bottled water in your room, with Doom, Peaceful Sleep room and body spray to your avail, supplied by the owner. Breakfast to choose from, and dinner prepared on the premises.

Best place....

Amazing lodge with friendly hosts. We were treated like part of the family. Clean accommodation with plenty of space, not forgetting the air conditioner. I do recommend a stop over at this beautiful place. I hope to return again as I missed the chance to sip a cold beer from their open spaced bar.

Lovely spot .. with a FREE beer!

I stayed here for one night on my way along the Caprivi Strip to Zambia. Well located. A ten minute walk at most from the Engen Fuel
Station where the Oasis bus from Windhoek, Grootfontein and Rundu stops. When the Oasis bus arrived at about 5AM there were shared taxis available. They will charge 24 Namibian dollars as it’s between midnight and 8AM. There’s not much to do in Katima Mulilo but it’s a good jumping off point to break up a long journey. The owner left a key with security so I could check in at 5AM. Much appreciated. My cabin was new, clean and more than adequate. In the evening the on-site bar was open. Really cold lager, pool, darts and table football. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and would happily stay again. Maybe you won’t get a FREE beer. Smile, who knows :-) P.S. Kazungulu on the way from Sesheke to Livingstone is an interesting place. Home to the shortest international boundary and the only point in the world where four countries meet! Worth a photo. The shared taxis from Sesheke will stop there if you ask and offer a little extra. Often people are getting out there anyway. I paid 150 Zambian Kwecha. Good value for the 5 hour taxi journey and the driver dropped me at my hotel. Need more info then just Message me.
