Jungle breakfast by the lake, friendly staff, bring repellent

ViaVia Entebbe is a charming, nature-immersed guesthouse where you can enjoy breakfast surrounded by monkeys, birds and a small lake (typical Ugandan swamp) in a forest-like setting. The friendly staff and atmospheric grounds make it a memorable stop near Entebbe, though mosquitoes and pool cleanliness can be issues. The breakfast is ordered from a menu rather than a buffet, with roughly 6–7 main options at 25 000 UGX each. Typical 25 000 UGX items include banana pancakes, fruit and granola yoghurt bowl, eggs of your choice with homemade bread, scrambled tofu, sweet potato hash browns with eggs and guacamole on toast. The English Breakfast is the 35 000 UGX upgrade. The staff are friendly, kind and helpful. I didn’t try the pool because it looked quite dirty, so I’d recommend checking it first before using. There were a lot of mosquitoes in the room, so definitely bring your own insect-repellent spray.

Oasis with great food and atmosphere

Lovely oasis at which we spent the last couple of nights in Uganda before flying back. Lovely gardens with monkeys and birds and great food and drink. Accommodation was very reasonable although food slightly pricing but nevertheless one of the best places we stayed in Uganda.

Room full of mold

Horrible. The room was small, moisty and full of mold. The shower was hardly giving any water. The food was expensive and greasy.
Don't go there, you might end up in this nightmare room.

Recommended!

For our first night in entebbe we were recommended Viavia, and this was indeed ideal as a start of our tour. Although the rooms (and especially the bathroom) are very basic, we could definitely appreciate the atmosphere, the friendly service, the beautiful view at the back, the cozy bar and the good food!
The staff will do anything to spoil the guests after a long flight!
We forgot the charger for our camera (yes, stupid!) but at the reception they could help us and an hour later we had a charger and spare battery! What a service!

Perfect!

We are currently staying at Viavia Entebbe for our first night in Uganda. The welcome is warm, the room very clean, the place is soothing by the water. We had dinner under the trees lit by string lights, all accompanied by a musical duo. Top notch!
