Safe place

Good living facilities, there are banks, and there are also many Asian restaurants nearby. This location feels like a safe area, so there's no need to worry too much at night.

Low level of customer service and courtesy

My experience at Yoha Hostal was very disappointing due to a serious lack of customer service on the part of the night receptionist, Vianca. On Saturday, July 25, around 4:30 pm, she allowed 4 young people to enter a shared dormitory where 4 adults were already staying, and she let them eat inside the room (potato chips, muffins, and other snacks), leaving crumbs all over the floor. That same night, the young women returned at dawn making a scene and did not let the other guests sleep. I tried to contact the manager, Roberto, to resolve the situation, but he took no action. This was not the first time: in the two and a half months that I resided at the hostel, it was the third occasion that this employee disrespected me in front of other guests, regardless of how long I had been a resident or my age (68 years old). I do not recommend this hostel if you are looking for an environment of rest and respect for long-term guests.

I couldn't arrive on time, and the reception was treating me horribly.

A very unpleasant experience even before arriving at the accommodation. I had a confirmed reservation directly on the Hostal Yoha website for three nights, and I only wrote to inquire if I could add an additional night.
I was informed that I had to pay 50% in advance, although that condition was not clearly stated in the confirmation I received, which indicated payment at the accommodation. When I requested an explanation and mentioned that the link I received was marked as potentially unsafe, instead of offering me another verifiable payment method, the response was: "Then I will proceed to cancel the reservation" and that I should do it through another platform.
At no point did I request to cancel my original reservation; I was only inquiring about an additional night. Later, the person who attended the chat claimed that I "did not want to understand," which I found to be disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary.
An accommodation can establish its payment policies, but it must clearly inform them before confirming the reservation, provide secure payment methods, and respond respectfully when a guest requests clarification.
After this service, I do not feel confident staying here or recommending it.

The property is in an excellent location. Everyone in the staff was super helpful. I would certainly stay at Hostal Yoha if I was in Panama City. Thank you, Roberto and Ingrid for all your kindness.

Terrible accommodation. Owner extremely unaccommodating. Entire place is a mess.
Bad service, would rate zero starts if I could.
