Amazing.
Nice hotel. In an amazing landscape. Very friendly administrator and all incredibly attentive staff!! The food was super delicious and varied. Mario and Alfredo were great hosts. Always attentive to every detail. We'll be back. Thank you.

Mixed opinions
This hotel baffled us. I know that my opinion disagrees with those of the majority who highly praise both the facilities themselves and the care. Our experience was not what we expected, but we recognize that by far it is the best option in the area if one wants to get to know the wonders of Huancaya and surroundings.
Its advantages are:
- perfect location, as this hotel is on the road (the route is difficult, requires a lot of concentration, you can not go fast and therefore is tiresome). Pretending to go head-on to Huancaya can be exhausting and even dangerous... The location is ideal for lounging, acclimatizing and using the place as an operations center.
- amenities far above the rest of the accommodation in the area (there are no hotels of a similar standard in any town, either on the road or in Huancaya)
- beautiful view of the gardens, two lovely little calls, access to the river
Disadvantages then?
The price. The hotel is overpriced for what it offers. (approx $150 per night; our room cost $170)
- Amenities that are far from what one expects for the price: some examples: cobwebs in the dining room (many), stained walls in the room, bathroom with paint peeling, hot shower yes, but little amount of water, only two bath towels (not a hand towel)... anyway. Nothing that while adventurous, we would not willingly accept and good humor in a hotel that charged half.
The deal was the thing that baffled us the most. Alex, the chef, is A1. A love as a young man. Very friendly and willing. The hotel manager, on the other hand, much praised by many in the comments was the one who really surprised us the first day with his attitude. We could not believe the answers he gave us by simply asking for one more chair for the room (there were two of us and there was only one chair), by asking kindly how the TV control worked, etc. He brought us the chair (stained, by the way) and explained the control, but all with a dismissive and disconcerting attitude. He told us "there are many hotels in Huancaya and one here" (as if inviting us to leave) when he commented that we were surprised by what they charged. He was really not in his day... because the next morning and the two days that followed he was very friendly, helpful and attentive, which we can not fail to mention and thank. Nothing takes away from it, the bad first impression.
Conclusion: having said all the above, yes, Hotel Villarma is the place to stay if you want to know Alis and Tomas (very close), go through the Ushco Canyon (incredible minutes between both villages), go to Laraos very close and reach Huancaya and its lagoons and waterfalls. Not expect the luxuries that correspond to the price paid, but a safe and quiet place from which to know the incredible wonders of the area.

Highly recommended hotel.
Very good hotel, totally recommended.
The rooms were basic, very clean and tidy.
The bed was super comfortable...it looked like a bed from a 5-star hotel.
There was a portable heater so we didn't feel cold during the night.
The bathroom was very clean, everything looked new. There was hot water.
The atmosphere of the hotel, very cozy.
There was a river in front and the scenery was incredible.
There was something to make a bonfire...you simply asked for it and they lit it for you.
As for the restaurant, everything is ok.

Great escape
Villa de Arma is perfectly located in a beautiful section of the Canete valley. Huancaya and its turquoise lakes are an hour away as is the stunning Sinhua valley reached via a dramatic canyon above Alis. At Tinco the highest 'high altitude' pedestrian bridge in the world is an incredible sight while the extensive Inca terracing at Laraos has to be seen to be believed. The road above the small towns of Alis and Tomas are extremely dramatic as is the one to nearby Miraflores which, for 100 metres, runs along a ledge cut deep in to the side of a river cliff. We saw condors every day for 5 days, including 3 circling us above the hotel as we ate breakfast one morning.
The hotel is super friendly, clean and well run - very willing to meet guests needs. Meals can be taken outside on a terrace overlooking the river or in a spacious dining room with an attractive mural depicting local scenes and wildlife. The menu specialises in alpaca - 'lomo saltado de alpaca' is a must as is trout 'a las finas hierbas'.
The hotel is super friendly, clean and well run - very willing to meet guests needs. Meals can be taken outside on a terrace overlooking the river or in a spacious dining room with an attractive mural depicting local scenes and wildlife. best hotel in Huancaya
So, it's either this or Yayos Lodge. Anywho..... my wife and I really liked this place. Carlos (the guy in charge) was super super super nice. He was very accommodating to all of our needs (my wife has a lot of food allergies) and he was always around to answer our many annoying questions. The place itself is a cozy little spot surrounded by so much natural beauty and the river is right in front of the rooms so you have the sounds of the river to sleep to. They also offer tours (which we took because we were NOT gonna drive more on that mountain ) at a very affordable price. The bed is comfy and warm. I took one star off because the rooms do not have heating and it gets VERY cold at night (Carlos informed us that they will be getting out soon but they can't now because electricity in Huancaya is very expensive), plus the food at the restaurant is just okay. They have a hairdryer but you have to ask for it (none of the airbnb's in Miraflores had either) Also, the prices for the rooms are pretty pricey but you don't really have many options in Huancaya ...so....But I would highly recommend this place. They are renovating a lot so hopefully by the time you go, it'll be better.
