Galician peace.
10/10.
I was with my partner and our dog spending two days in this beautiful place. An unbeatable environment that conveys a lot of peace and tranquility. The house as such very well decorated, with a lot of personality and very original, maintaining the essence of the monastery that was at the time.
Ideal for disconnecting from the busy lives we lead most people and doing a real dopamine detox.
Nothing bad to talk about.

Rural comfort with 4+ star service and amenities
This place was a real gem of a find. It provided exactly what we were looking for in our short 4 night honeymoon. Surrounded by nature, the grounds and buildings, although not huge, provided plenty of diversity and interest. The pool was greatly appreciated during the heatwave at that time and we very much enjoyed the honesty bar and games room. It was relaxing and well-placed to make day-time excursions, though we found that we were very happy to stay mostly within the grounds enjoying the facilities and resident pets. The restaurant was exceptional. The décor, service and food was excellent. We will definitely return!

A haver of peace and serenity
A place out of time... where it is good to live in this nature so beautiful and so far from the city, in a silence "monacal". The welcome is friendly, the many lounges invite to rest, the comfortable rooms and the breakfast served near nature is complete and of good quality. Discreet but efficient staff

Mesmerizing beautiful place!
This was our last stop in a road trip between Portugal and Spain. As we left the main road a fearful feeling came over us! It was like “where are we going?”. It seemed it was taking us to nowhere. But, we are glad we chose this place. It’s beautiful and peaceful! It’s is surreal to be so close to a 1700/1800’s house. I hope this beauty finds its way into the future.

Extremely disappointing dinner experience and unacceptable behaviour from management
We booked the dinner service at Casa Grande do Bachao expecting a quality, relaxing meal to match the peaceful surroundings. Unfortunately, the experience was both disappointing and upsetting, particularly due to the unprofessional and aggressive conduct of the manager (who also works as the chef) and the waiter.
When we made the dinner reservation, we clearly informed the staff in advance that one of our guests does not eat meat. Despite this, both of us were served bleeding beef roast with no acknowledgment of the dietary request. After raising the issue, the staff took the plates back, and we were left waiting for 20 minutes.
When the food was eventually brought out again, the results were dismal. The fish served to my guest was the same as what had been offered the day before, and the beef on my plate was now cold and overcooked. I politely sent the dish back, only to be met with a deeply unprofessional response: the waiter took the plate away without offering an apology or alternative. The chef came out of the kitchen and shouted at me, insisting there was nothing wrong with the food. His tone and body language were clearly meant to intimidate, and it left us shaken and extremely uncomfortable.
This was not just poor service—it was a total failure of hospitality. No apology, no alternative offered, and no accountability taken. Given the remote location of the hotel, being left without a meal after this ordeal only added to the distress.
I cannot recommend this property to anyone who values basic courtesy, professionalism, or dietary respect. What could have been a lovely experience was ruined by negligence and hostility.

Lamento, por llamarlo de alguna forma, que su percepción de la realidad llena de inexactitudes, otra forma educada de referirse a algo, no le hayan permitido disfrutar de la cena. En primer lugar, obvia usted que SI que reconocimos el único error que cometimos, y que tan humano es equivocarse, como disculparse, cosa que hicimos respecto a lo único cierto que mención usted. Habían avisado en el desayuno de que su novia no comía carne. Le reitero mis disculpas por eso….y por absolutamente nada más!. Su velada se la arruinó usted solita, no necesito de ayuda. En primer lugar, obvia usted que los platos del entrante y el postre volvieron a la cocina tan limpios que no hubiese sido necesario lavarlos, sino fuese por las obvias condiciones de higiene. En segundo lugar, obvia también que, advertido el error, y a pesar de no ser un restaurante con carta (nosotros ofrecemos un servicio de comedor, no tenemos un restaurante), dimos solución en 13 minutos al error cometido, no 20 (10 que necesitamos para hornear el bacalao y tres que nos habrá llevado montar el plato). Interesante aquí mencionar, porque ello nos acerca a sus profundos conocimientos gastronómicos, que su novia disfrutó esa noche de un BACALAO al horno, con una crema de patata , una salsa de pimientos asados y aceite de perejil, cuando el día anterior le habíamos servido MERLUZA a la gallega, que como ya sabe, es hervida y acompañada de una ajada, patata cocida y, en nuestro caso, unos pimientos “tipo padrón” (para que haya los genuinos de Padrón/Herbón aun falta un mes). En cuanto a la famosa carne, estaba, al decir de los otros 11 comensales que tuvimos ese día, en su “punto perfecto”, como lo estaba la suya cuando se la servimos pero…usted quiso que se la retirásemos aún cuando sabrá perfectamente que es de buena educación esperar a que todos los comensales de la mesa tengan su entrante para empezar a comer, pero no es necesario a partir de ahí, precisamente para que todos disfruten su plato en las mejores condiciones. Así que, por decirlo así, todo lo que pudiese haber percibido incorrecto con esa carne es por su única y exclusiva responsabilidad y, permítame decirlo, porque usted se refiere a mi de modo similar, por culpa de su altivez. Pero es que es más, aún a pesar de su error al no comerla cuando se la servimos, la carne NO ESTABA FRÍA, lo sabemos porque, extrañados, la probamos cuando volvió a la cocina. La carne estaba como tiene que estar, reposada después de cocinarse para que asiente sus jugos. Tampoco es cierto que no estuviese “Pink” (hasta fui a la cocina y corté un trozo de lo que no se había querido usted comer y, a la vista de su color rosáceo, viéndolo!, usted lo negó! Sic. No intente negarlo, porque esperando su tozudez, sacamos fotos de la carne). Le expliqué que no era solomillo, o entrecot, que hay partes de la vaca, como la picańa,que hay que cocinar más, que no se pueden dejar poco hechas porque no se podrían masticar, pero usted no escuchaba nada que no favoreciese a su adquirido papel “dominante”. A usted le daba igual cualquier argumento y contestaba con la misma altivez negando la realidad, supongo que habiendo decidido que una vez metida en ese jardín, jamás rectificaría. Así que seńora ni le grité, ni nada que se asemeje, más bien la confronte porque estaba siendo usted sumamente injusta y diría que maleducada. Servimos esmeradamente a nuestros huéspedes, pero no somos sus esclavos, y usted trató a mi personal como tal. Siento decirles que fue usted el hazmerreír del resto del comedor, que había disfrutado de la misma carne, cocinada exactamente igual que la suya y que todo lo aquí escrito es solo un resumen, obviando las partes que sonarían de mala educación, de lo que dijeron el resto de los huéspedes de su actitud. Cualquier cosa comentaron, menos cosas bonitas.
Disfrute usted del resto de su viaje.
