I wish I could give a zero star review. So many things wrong.
First, on our very first night in Spain my child got attacked by BED BUGS in the upper bed!
The bathroom door is a completely clear sliding door, as is the shower door, so you can see directly from the room into the shower and toilet.
The code to the door is easy to guess so I imagine i could have opened anyone's room and the could open mine. We had trouble owning the main door and messaged the owner who literally never responded, we just waited until someone let us in.
The room advertises air conditioning and was a SAUNA. Definitely no air conditioning.
Only 1 sheet or blanket for 2 beds. No hand towel.
There was NOTHING redeeming about this room. We left after 1 night and booked another room. Terrible way to start our lovely family vacation to Spain.

The location was insanely amazing! The place itself wasn't particularly good. The "lobby" area was either under construction or something and it wasn't the nicest/prettiest. Rooms are big and beds/pillows were comfortable.

We could not adjust the checkin time

We booked a group of friends a double room plus single bed. I gave one week’s notice to change the check in (even if I assume a charge to more). He refused to make the request for a change of check in.
Obviously we could not come at the previous time and lost the Reservation having to book elsewhere

Excellent location and great value for money

I stayed here during the gay pride weekend with my partner.
For the two nights we paid only 70 euros which was a bargain.
The room we stayed in had a little basin and a fan to keep the room cool. The WiFi also worked well. We had a shared bathroom which was spotless.
This hostel is located right in the heart of Madrid at Puerto Del Sol. Even though it was in the centre we never had any problems with noise.
I can’t understand the bad reviews. You can’t expect five star when the price is so cheap. For what we paid we thought it was excellent. The woman even checked us in early.
I would recommend this hostal if you are on a budget and want to be in an excellent central location. If you want fancy then pay for it elsewhere.
Madrid is also an amazing city. I will come back and I will stay here again.
