Motorbike tour

We stayed here twice on our first and last night. The town is beautiful and the hotel was perfect for us being a couple of hours from the ferry port. We found the staff friendly and the accommodation clean and pleasant. Would recommend to anyone.

Friendly, cheap and central

Friendly, small and cheap Hostal in the centre of Potes with rooms over a café/restaurant. Clean, comfortable room. We opted for a room at the front, and although the double glazing and shutters cut out the traffic noise, the room was too warm in August and there was no air con. With the windows open the traffic noise was a problem into the night and early in the morning. Would probably have been better opting for a room at the back. Parking was also difficult although we always found a spot - just. Suspect this was an August problem, as we knew people who were there in late July and it was considerably quieter then. Highly recommend the Fuente de cable car and a walk in the mountains, also the Cares gorge - but for the gorge get there as early as possible to be able to park.

Little gem of a place !

Stayed near Potes and popped in for a beer , was treated great by the two barmen working here ( Diego was one of them ) had such a good time we ended up in here for a menu del dia which was fantastic , mountain stew very popular with my wife ! We sat outside listening to music most nights. If we lived here it would definitely be our Local Bar !

Good place to stay

After embarking on a motorcycling holiday we decided to stay for a couple of days in the beautiful village of Potes. We had one of the last rooms available so unable to get one with a view on this visit. But the windows in let a welcome breeze. The room was clean, nice decor, compact bathroom with good shower. The bed was very comfortable and bed linen clean and fresh. The staff on reception were very helpful and spoke good English. They offer a breakfast deal for 3 Euro and an discount off the meal of the day. Wonderful cafe con leche at breakfast, a orange juice and options such as toast, croissant, muffin etc. Though we didn't eat there the food did look good and reasonably priced. Would recommend and especially to bikers, you can park your bike out the front of the hostel.

Good lunch meal

Centrally located restaurant - but less picturesquely, overlooks a car park. Wanted a quick lunch - and the mountain stew I ordered was great. It was a generous mix of beans, cabbage and various meats/sausages. Satisfying, tasty and filling - recommended.
PS My wife also appreciated the good disabled loo - easily accessible in a wheelchair.
