Great restaurant - tries very hard!

People were lovely and accommodating - food was Czech style - home cooking and massive portions but very tasty although they did offer some pizza and such which was average. All the staff were great esp since we were travelling with our 50kg Bernese :-) Highly recemmended!

Artistically renovated, but unlivably hot attic room ruins it

This is not a hotel-- it is a restaurant with a few rooms to rent. No reception desk or attention to guests whatsoever-- one of the waiters gives you your key. The ancient building was artistically renovated, and our room looked great, although it required climbing 30 steps (no elevator). However, it was a (huge) attic, and the temperature was high enough to fry an egg. A vent fan in the gable window would have helped, but you are on your own here. Same for the non-existent soap dish in the shower, or the "wifi" which was too slow even fr Netflix. Don;t even dream of air conditioning.
Our room was right over the (rather popular) restaurant, which was very noisy until after midnight, in addition to the church bells every hour.
Breakfast was OK, but we shall stay away from this place, at least in the summer.

Great Little Hotel in Slavonice

My girlfriend and I spent one night at the Besidka Design Hotel during our trip to Telc and Slavonice in the Czech Republic.
The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Slavonice as it's located right in the center of the Old Town. It's easy to walk anywhere in the town that you want to go and there is free parking on site at the rear of the hotel.
There are quite a few different rooms to choose from and we stayed in the Pan Kusiak room on the top floor of property. We had an incredible view of the surrounding buildings and it was great to watch the sunrise early in the morning.
The room itself was quite spacious with two different beds and plenty of options for sitting and relaxing. There wasn't any air conditioning but the windows let in all the natural air that you would need and throughout the night there was a steady Breeze keeping us cool and refreshed.
Unfortunately, there wasn't a desk but the large couch was great to use for getting some work done before heading out to explore the town.
As a design hotel there are some interesting artistic features at the property so keep an eye out for those if that's something you feel like checking out.
The bathroom was clean, spacious, and came with everything you would need for a short-term stay.
The Wi-Fi didn't work that well because I don't think there are any routers close to the top floor so this is one area that the hotel can improve on.
Apparently there is a breakfast served early in the morning but when we came down there was no one in the restaurant and even when we left an hour later after breakfast was supposed to start there still wasn't anything going on.
The staff were friendly and we can experience any problems during our stay.
One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel is located right above a restaurant/bar and the check-in is done at the bar so don't get confused when you show up and there isn't a dedicated lobby.
Overall, I would recommend staying at the Besidka Hotel if you're looking for a great base to explore Telc and Slavonice. The hotel is well equipped for short-term stays and quite reasonably priced for the area.

You gonna forgive them anything

Hotel Besídka is a specific location. This is also the best restaurant in town, the project under which they renovated old renaissance house is very distinctive, Slavonice are extremely interesting. We could discuss the degree of cosiness of rooms, argue about selected materials, or a tightening of the individual aspects. But all overlaps genuine friendliness and kindness environment, staff and humor all around.

A really fun place to stay

We were only staying one night but so wished we had booked for longer - it made us smile and we were still smiling days later. It looks at bit "hippy" from the outside but it is actually a very well run hotel with a laid back feel to it. Staff are friendly (particularly the manager), the service is efficient in a relaxed way and the decor quirky. Our room (Haty) was in a new block of three rooms at the back of the hotel- modern, very comfortable and most of all quiet. We ate in the bar/bistro area which was very good but the breakfast the next day was amazing - served and cooked to order with both hot and cold courses. Its a hotel with a sense of humour but very relaxing and well run. Slavonice itself is an artists enclave and the surrounding countryside is beautiful - lots of walks, bike rides and woods.
