Recommend - Worth the Cost Benefit

Participating in the "17th International Meeting of Classical Cars" in Melo - Uy, we stayed at Hotel Crown and it was a good surprise.
Hotel very clean in all rooms, all staff very kind, polite and welcoming, providing a pleasant stay.
The hotel provides Wi in its dependents (I didn't have to leave to buy Uruguay chip)
The only negative point and not having a garage, the cars are parked in the front street and on the side of the hotel.
Simple breakfast more much tasty.
Positive point, it is in the center with easy access walking to the shopping area, squares and restaurants of the city.
Worth the Cost Benefit.

Simple and clean hotel but old fashioned

Located in a small town, Melo does not offer 100 options to accommodate you. As we arrive late after a long journey, we did enjoy our bed and room.
It was basic and simple. Ok for one night but not to stay longer. Room was clean and the staff was certainly helpful.
The breakfast is basic.

Totally overpriced : the good evaluation is 2,5/5 and not 2 nor 3

The hotel is located in the centre of Melo. No private parking but there are possibilities around to park your car in the streets (free). We can't say it's a bad hotel. It is like a very old "luxury" hotel but completely overpriced for what you get. We were in may so low season and we paid the same as a great 4 stars in Punta del este. Staff is very nice. Breakfast not good with a limited choice of food. Breakfast room not pleasant. The lobby of the hotel is charming and the configuration is not bad but the rooms are tiny and needs a big restoration. All the hotel is clean and well kept as well as the room and the bathroom. Room equiped with a fridge and a tv but really not pleasant. Wifi connection abominable and only possible in the lobby. In conclusion, the only "good hotel" in the centre of Melo where you can go for 1 or 2 nights but try maybe to negociate your price because they take advantage of their "exclusive" status.

Very comfortable, very clean!

Our two-night stay in Hotel Crown was very comfortable. The hotel is extremely clean, breakfast was typical for Uruguay: tea, coffee, fruit juice, assorted breads, ham, and cheese. All tasty and fresh. Service was very good. We were unable to get good wifi in our room (number 87), but it worked well in the lobby and we were able to find a quiet spot to check email and do the basics. Credit cards are accepted. Parking is on the street, but we had no difficulty finding a spot. Melo appears to be a very safe place; we didn't see anyone locking their cars!!! We can recommend this hotel without any doubts!

very comfortable, friendly people

is a little town on the north west of uruguay, near to brasil.
the stay was very comfortable. With breakfast, cable tv, internet... and the best: the people, they were very friendly and they help me a lot.
