I can't imagine a more perfect location to explore Basel. It is right on the Rhine River above a string of restaurants and shops. Across the river, there are beautiful views of historical landmarks. We were delighted to see people floating down the river when we arrived and wasted no time joining them. Hotel Krafft will forever live in our hearts.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The Krafft was conveniently located near Old Town, shops and restaurants. It’s was right on the beautiful Rhine River. We loved getting easy dinners or lunches at the Coop close by. We also loved the charcuterie at the sister wine bar across the street. The hotel restaurant was superb.

I'm not one to leave reviews, but our stay at the Krafft Basel was so exceptional, I needed to give them some kudos! The location us perfect, right on the Rhine and easy to reach from the train station via Basel's tram system. The hotel is right next to the Mittlere Brücke bridge, so it was an easy walk to the old town and to museums or Basel Catherdral. If you can, book a balcony room with a river view. One of our favorite activites was sitting and watching people float the Rhine (and we had our chance to float a few times as well. They even supply a float bag in each room). We were with a group of our family and the balcony was large enough to fit 5 or six or us at a time. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We had booked a suite figuring our adult son could stay with us on a cot or sofa bed. But we found out upon check-in that the room we had booked could not accommodate a cot (it was up a winding set of stairs). The receptionist quickly switched our room with another room booked by our group and all was well. This was my fault for not contacting the hotel before booking a room to confirm accomodation for the extra person. If we hadn't had a group of rooms, this could have been a disaster! The 3 days we were there were so hot I also can't express how wonderful it was to have easy and free access to water, cold drinks, cold towels in each floor. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. We had a wonderful time and I would not hesitate to book Krafft Basel again.

A magic blend

Krafft Hotel is a historical, iconic building where time goes by and adds charm. Ideal location, with an open, wonderful sight over the old town and Rhine; the view from the balcony of my room on its own was worth the stay. But Krafft has multiple assets: a young, friendly and efficient staff, an impeccable service, a superb breakfast served in a spectacular reception hall. And, above all, a quiet elegance which is a magic blend between tradition and the modern art of welcoming. Basel is a wonderful town, and Krafft is the place to be!

Dear Guest,
Thank you so much for this wonderful and beautifully written feedback. We are truly delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us.
The view over the Rhine and Basel’s old town is indeed something very special, and we are happy that your balcony became such a memorable part of your experience. It means a great deal to us that you also appreciated the atmosphere of our historic house, our breakfast and, above all, the warm and attentive service of our team.
Your description of the Krafft as a blend of tradition and the modern art of welcoming is a particularly lovely compliment and captures exactly what we hope our guests feel when staying with us.
Thank you for choosing the Krafft and for your kind words. We very much hope to welcome you back to Basel and to our house again soon.
Warm regards
