Excellent staff, clean rooms and good food. I recommend it as a hotel that is in the heart of Cairo downtown.

Egyptian 3 stars are not German 3 stars

We stayed 3 nights as part of a trip at the hotel. Although the rooms were facing the Nile, we slept well. Yeah, it's not quiet. But neither is Cairo. Whoever seeks peace go into the desert. Yes, no hair dryer, no kettle and with us the shower water ran off only with difficulty. Yes, at breakfast it is best to have only one tea and the omelette. The rest is indiscussable. But the situation is pretty good. But there are no more than 3 stars in it.

Give it a miss

We were booked in at the start of an Intrepid tour. Our room was in need of a deep clean. Sheets were not ironed and did not smell fresh. No kettle, no hairdryer, empty fridge. We were kept awake by barking street dogs.
The breakfast cheese was processed, the ‘meat’ bright pink: can’t comment on taste. Coffee undrinkable. I can’t recall a worse breakfast. Stayed in better equipped hotels in 1980s. No indication of the advertised rooftop bar. Ground floor bar was friendly and welcoming.

Intrepid Tour Accomodation

I stayed at this hotel as part of an Intrepid tour- they make day rooms available for the tour groups, which is very convenient if you arrive earlier than check in. The hotel is a 3 start hotel, very basic, but it has free breakfast and there is a café on the first floor and a restaurant on the 10th floor with a view of the Nile- very convenient. The hotel is a 5 min drive to the Egyptian Museum. I have to say the all of the staff here was so helpful, which was a big plus and the best part of the stay!

One night at Pharaohs

Oh. My. Gawd.
This was not what we expected...it felt like a hostel. We asked for a double room and got a room with 3 singles...the included breakfast was, ugh...I didn't know you could mess up an omelet this bad. One night was enough. I showered with my flip-flops on. Nuff said.
